Upeksa is a collection (neckpiece and ring) of crocheted healing stones. The stone setting was inspired by the technique of sewing. Crochet, a method of creating patterns with a hooked needle, gives a similar but more intricate finish. The stones selected for the neckpiece are Amethyst, Rose Quartz, Clear Quartz and Fluorite; and Clear Quartz for the ring.
They were chosen as their colours and healing properties harmonise beautifully. Amethyst helps with the physical ailments and emotional issues; Rose Quartz restores trust and harmony in relationships, purifies and opens the heart to promote love, self-love and friendship, and is also good for deep inner healing and feelings of peace.
Fluorite absorbs and neutralises negative energy and stress, increases powers of concentration, self-confidence, encourages physical and mental balance and helps in decision making; finally, Clear Quartz, the 'Master Healer' amplifies energy, thought and the effect of the other crystals.
Upeksa is a Sanskrit term that describes a balanced mind and tolerance. In Buddhism it is one of the four elements of true love. It is a mastery where the mind cannot be unbalances by the highs, lows, fortunes and misfortunes life brings.
